MONTHLY MEETINGS are held the 1st Friday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Engineering Laboratory Bldg. on the USA campus. (On major holiday weekends, the meeting moves to the 2nd Friday) W4IAX EMERGENCY TRAINING / CLUB NET is held every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. on the 146.82 repeater (203.5 hz tone required).(Alternate repeater 147.300 w/100Hz Tone)

 New Section Manager Appointed in Alabama (1/3/11)

David Drummond, W4MD, of Northport, Alabama has been appointed Alabama Section Manager effective January 1, 2011. Earlier this month, Jay Isbell, KA4KUN, -- who had served as Section Manager since January 2008 -- resigned due to health related reasons. ARRL Membership and Volunteer Programs Manager Dave Patton, NN1N, made the appointment in consultation with Southeastern Division Director Greg Sarratt, W4OZK. Drummond has served as Alabama Assistant Section Manager since January 2008. He will complete the current Section Manager term that continues through December 31, 2011.


6 Meter Information - - Danny Carpenter N4UXY and Norman Knapp N5NPO re-installed the 6m repeater on top of Providence Hospital on October 4th, 2010. If you have 6 meter capabilities, please try the repeater  53.03 / 52.03 mhz no tone

THE WEDNESDAY LUNCH BUNCH meets every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center at 3201 Hillcrest (south of Cottage Hill). The cafeteria-style meal averages $5.80, with other selections at different prices. The dining room is open to all ages, not just seniors or center members. All local hams and their guests, as well as anyone interested in ham radio, are welcome.
